Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts has revealed it will be hosting a mile-long light and lantern show this winter at its Buckinghamshire resort. The family-business, which has four parks across the UK, has teamed up with an industry leader in Chinese lantern festivals worldwide, LEKTRIK, to create the Land of Lights Festival at Gulliver’s Dinosaur and Farm Park.
Guests will journey across a one-mile trail, discovering 12 vivid dreamworlds featuring gigantic lanterns inspired by animals, mega monuments and wonders of the natural world. The display will include over 50,000 LED lights, over 40 tons of steel and 200,000 meters of silk cloth. Justin Corsa, CEO of LEKTRIK, said: “We are proud to be working with Gulliver’s, and we look forward to our first of many years together. Land of Lights is a custom designed masterpiece, that requires both sides to work closely together. The fabrication has already begun, and as we see the design transform into reality, we get closer to the realisation that this is going to be the greatest lantern arts exhibition the UK has yet to see.” Julie Dalton, managing director of Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts, added: “This winter Gulliver’s Dinosaur and Farm Park will be transformed into a huge lantern festival. Visitors can look forward to a mile of immersive light installations on a massive scale, spanning across 12 magical worlds. There will be a fantastic choice of street food, drinks and plenty of entertainment to enjoy throughout the festival. “We are thrilled to have partnered up with LEKTRIK to bring this fantastic experience to Milton Keynes. Together we’re looking forward to creating a must-see attraction that will take people on a magical journey. “Here at Gulliver’s we’re always looking at new ways we can excite our customers and bring new visitors to our parks and Land of Lights is a great opportunity for us to do this.’’ Land of Lights will run from November 2022 until February 2023.
